Responding To The Pertalite Scarcity News, Erick Thohir: The Source Is Sufficient, No Need To Worry

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, ensured that the Pertalite type of fuel oil (BBM) is able to meet domestic needs. Therefore, Erick also asked the public not to worry.

Erick Tohir's statement also responded to the news of the scarcity of Pertalite type fuel at public gas stations (SPBU) in several areas.

"When we talk about the need for fuel, the government has already said the sources are sufficient and there is no need to make a fuss", he told reporters, quoted on Monday, April 4.

Furthermore, Erick said that the government is here to meet the needs of the community and is also committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Therefore, the government has determined Pertalite as a special type of assignment fuel (JBKP) to replace Premium.

"The government is present how Premium is replaced to Pertalite", he said.

According to Erick, when compared to Premium, Petalite fuel is much better because it is an environmentally friendly fuel. Thus, the government also encourages the shift in usage from Premium to Pertalite.

"Is it good for Premium or Pertalite? Pertalite moreover is included in the green fuel category, so that what is called air damage or pollution can be reduced. One of the most expensive things in our lives is health. If the air is not good, it is certainly not healthy", he explained.

For your information, based on data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, the JBKP quota for RON 90 or Pertalite gasoline this year is set at 23.05 million kiloliters.

Meanwhile, the realization of JBKP Pertalite expenditure until February 2022 is 4.258 million kiloliters. This amount exceeds the quota for February on a year-to-date basis.
