Indolife Pensiontama No Longer Shareholder Of MEGA, Conglomerate Anthony Salim Cancels Bank Mega Dividend Of IDR 159 Billion

JAKARTA - Conglomerate Anthony Salim may not receive dividends from PT Bank Mega Tbk (MEGA). This is because, in the report on the registration of Bank Mega shares as of February 2022, the name PT Indolife Pensiontama has disappeared.

As is known, Indolife is Anthony Salim's business entity that is quite active in investing in financial services institutions, including the bank owned by the conglomerate Chairul Tanjung, namely Bank Mega and PT Allo Bank Indonesia Tbk (BBHI).

Citing the MEGA shareholder registration report submitted by Bank Mega's Corporate Secretary Christiana M. Damanik, Wednesday 9 March, Indolife's name is not on the Bank Mega's shareholder register. The report only mentions the name of PT Mega Corpora as the holder of 58.02 percent of MEGA's shares and the public with 41.98 percent ownership.

This data is of course different from the list of Bank Mega shareholders as of the end of December 2021. During this period, Indolife was recorded to own 5.7 percent of MEGA shares, equivalent to 397.26 million shares.

This number also decreased compared to the position at the end of 2020. At that time, Indolife was still the holder of 6.07 percent or 422.81 million shares of Bank Mega.

Referring to MEGA's share price at the close of trading on Wednesday 9 March IDR 10,900, the value of Indolife's ownership at the end of 2021 in Bank Mega reached IDR 4.33 trillion.

As is known, in 2021 Bank Mega posted a profit of around IDR 4 trillion. Of that amount, the company plans to distribute dividends of IDR 2.8 trillion.

The money will be distributed to shareholders on March 23, 2022. That way, later investors will receive a dividend of IDR 402 per share.

From the total shareholding in Bank Mega as of 2021, Indolife actually has the potential to receive a dividend of IDR 159.7 billion. However, seeing the loss of Indolife's name, Anthony Salim could end up canceling the dividend.
