JAKARTA – PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk. said he was ready to support the development of telecommunications networks in the form of providing digital infrastructure and services in the National Capital City (IKN) of the Archipelago.

Telkom President Director Ririek Adriansyah said the development plan covers three digital business domains, namely connectivity, platform and services that synergize with all subsidiaries and other government companies.

"We are ready to provide connectivity, platforms and various digital services to support IKN Nusantara to become a modern smart city," he said in an official statement quoted on Sunday, March 6.

According to Ririek, Telkom's position is very strategic to ensure that digital transformation can really be present in the National Capital City.

“There are various opportunities and challenges to be faced. Of course, this is a big task as well as pride for the Telkom Group to be able to participate in supporting the digitalization of smart cities at IKN Nusantara," he said.

In his explanation, Ririek revealed that currently the coverage of Telkom's network infrastructure around the IKN Nusantara area, to be precise in the Sepaku District, was recorded to have 173 ODP and it is very possible for further development.

He said that this capability was coupled with the Manado-Dumai Indonesia Global Gateway (IGG) submarine cable that traversed along the Makassar Strait, making IKN Nusantara a direct global connection prepared through the Batam and Manado gateways.

"Meanwhile, for Telkomsel's mobile service, we will continue to maximize coverage expansion, increase capacity, and improve the quality of 4G and 5G networks in the IKN Nusantara area," he said.

To ensure the realization of all these plans, Ririek said that his party will build more intense synergies with the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), the Ministry of Communication and Information and related institutions or agencies.

"Hopefully the efforts and spirit of collaboration of all parties can encourage digitalization so that the presence of IKN Nusantara as a smart city can later become a new face for a better Indonesia," concluded Ririek.
