JAKARTA - The government of Batang Regency, Central Java, said that as many as three multinational companies with an investment value of around IDR 1 trillion had begun to be built in the Batang Industrial Park (BIP) industrial area in Sigayung, Tulis sub-district.

"There are three, two of which are still subsidiaries of Nestle and the other is a company that will produce wire," said Head of the Batang Regency Investment and One Stop Service (DPMPTSP) Wahyu Budi Santoso in Batang, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Monday, February 15.

According to him, the two Nestle subsidiaries are packaging factories.

"The construction location is in Block G or opposite the Nestle Bandaraya factory which is currently still being built," he said

He said that currently the three factories were in the pre-contract stage or preparing everything needed for an official contract and would carry out their groundbreaking in March 2022.

"If the development of the BIP industrial area is indeed quite rapid. Soon, a special road to the area that is translucent to the north coast will also be built soon," he said.

According to him, the 20-meter-wide road is already in the foundation stage and will soon be casting and once it is completed it will be donated to the Batang Regency Government.

"We appreciate the facilities built by the manager of the area, namely PT Intiland Development Tbk," he said.

Wahyu added that the three companies will create many job opportunities for the people of Batang Regency.
