Indonesia Send 9 Representatives To Malaysia Open 2025

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto are one of nine Indonesian representatives at the Malaysia Open 2025 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Indonesia has nine representatives on the Malaysian Open 2025 provisional list after three of them were confirmed to have withdrawn from the event which will take place at the beginning of that year.

The Super 1000 BWF level tournament will take place on January 7-12 2025 at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The prize provided by this tournament is US$1.45 million.

The Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) in a statement last weekend confirmed that three representatives certainly could not participate in the event.

Those who were confirmed to have resigned were the men's singles Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo and the men's doubles duo Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Daniel Marthin.

However, in the current list there are still nine representatives who are likely to play. The details are two men's singles, two women's singles, two women's doubles, and one mixed doubles.

In the men's and women's singles number, there are All England 2024 champions Jonatan Christie, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, bronze medalists at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, and Putri Kusuma Wardani.

Then the two men's doubles pairs included in the Malaysia Open 2025 list are Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Mohammad Reza Pahlevi Isfahani.

The rest are Lanny Tria Mayasari/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi in women's doubles and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja in mixed doubles.

Last year, Indonesia returned from the Malaysia Open without carrying a title. At that time, none of the representatives of Merah-White traveled to the final round.
