Dejan/Gloria Revenge Mission

Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja carried out a mission of revenge in the first match of the 2024 BWF World Tour Finals (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA - Mixed doubles pair Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja carry a mission of revenge while playing in the first match of the closing season of the BWF World Tour Finals 2024.

Dejan/Gloria will start their struggle from Group B against the Japanese pair, Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito, at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Hangzhou, China, on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

This is their second clash. Previously, Dejan/Gloria lost two straight games in their inaugural meeting at the 2024 Japanese Kumamoto Masters in November.

"We will study the opponent's game again. What was the loss in the previous meeting, then complete and correct each other's shortcomings tomorrow," Gloria said in a statement received from PBSI.

Dejan/Gloria along with five other Indonesian representatives have undergone their last training on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, evening WIB.

This session lasted two hours to finalize all strategy and field adaptation.

Dejan said that the duration of the exercise was enough for them after yesterday they missed the first session for 60 minutes because they had just arrived in China.

"In adaptation, it is quite maximal because we Indonesian teams have had a long training duration. The capital is good to face the first match," said Dejan.

This year will be Gloria's fourth appearance at the BWF World Tour Finals. She previously played in this event with Hafiz Faizal in three consecutive years from 2018, 2019, and 2020.

On the other hand, this is Dejan's first appearance at the event. He will then enter the PBSI Cipayung National Training Center (Pelatnas) and partnered with Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Dejan/Fadia will make their debut at the India Open in January 2025. Prior to that, he was still playing with Gloria at the 2025 Malaysia Open.
