U-17 World Cup Results 2023: Ecuador U-17 Accompany Morocco U-17 To Round Of 16

Ecuador U-17 accompanied Morocco U-17 to qualify for the knockout stages of the 2023 U-17 World Cup (doc. FIFA).

JAKARTA Ecuador's U-17 made sure to qualify for the last 16 of the 2023 U-17 World Cup after finishing as runners-up in Group A.

The runner-up position was secured by Diego Martinez's troops after drawing 1-1 against Panama U-17 in the last match of Group A at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Thursday, November 16, 2023 evening WIB.

Elkan Ruiz put La Tricolor ahead of Panama U-17 when the game went 24 minutes. He beat Manuel Romero after receiving Jairo Reyes' pass.

Oldemar Castillo then equalized when the game had ten minutes remaining in normal time for the second half. The goal came from Hector Rios' pass.

These results made Ecuador's U-17 collect a total of five points from three matches. In detail, they won one win against Morocco U-17 and drew twice, including one of them when they met Indonesia U-17.

Morocco U-17 who qualified as group winners with a collection of six points. The last three points were secured by Morocco U-17 after winning 3-1 over Indonesia U-17.

Meanwhile, the defeat against Morocco U-17 made Indonesia U-17 have to settle for closing the group phase in third place. The Milky Way squad collected two points, the same as Panama U-17 which is the caretaker.
