JAKARTA - Real Madrid have denied negotiating with Kylian Mbappe to recruit the player from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) next summer.
The La Liga club stated that the news of Mbape's recruitment was wrong.
"In response to information reported by various media regarding negotiations between Kylian Mbappe and our club, Real Madrid stated that the information was categorized as wrong and no negotiations were made with any PSG players," Real Madrid said in an official statement, quoted via Antara, Sunday, November 5.
The club based in Madrid, Spain did not provide the specific name of which media.
Meanwhile, quoted from ESPN, the front page of the Spanish national newspaper Marca reported that "Real Madrid remains silent, but (club) sees Mbappe wearing a white jersey in 2024."
French newspaper L'Equipe on Friday, November 3 also said Madrid was "still waiting for Mbappe".
Meanwhile, the Spanish sports daily newspaper Diario AS reported that the attacker hoped to get USD 35 million or USD 37.58 million a year after tax in Bernabeu.
Mbappe is said to have been the main transfer target by Real Madrid and club president Florentino Perez since 2021.
Earlier, in May 2023, Mbappe stated that he would not renew his contract with PSG, but would remain at the club until his contract expires next year.
That way, he is free to negotiate with other clubs in January next year ahead of next summer's move.
Mbappe has scored 10 goals in Ligue 1 for PSG this season and two goals in three Champions League appearances.
