Ahead Of Brunei Vs Indonesia, Marc Klok Leaves His Fate To Shin Tae-yong

JAKARTA - Indonesian National Team midfielder, Marc Klok, is not thinking too much about the opportunity to play in the second leg of the first round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification against Brunei, Tuesday, October 17.

He left his fate completely to the coach, Shin Tae-yong. For him, the team's victory is the most important thing.

The second leg will be held at the Hassanal Bolkiah Stadium, Brunei Darussalam headquarters, at 19.00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

"We'll see later, who plays (as a starter), who doesn't," said Marc Klok, quoted from the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) website on Monday, October 16.

"But I am always ready to operate as usual, and our goal in coming here is to win," he added.

The Garuda squad has high confidence ahead of the second leg against Brunei. The reason is that during the first leg in Jakarta on October 12, the national team as the hosts won big with a score of 6-0.

In that match, Marc Klok was introduced by Shin Tae-yong as the starter. However, he only played in the first half and was replaced by Ricky Kambuaya afterwards.

Klok doesn't matter if that happens. According to him, what must be done is to play completely when he is trusted to fill the starting XI again.

However, if he has to step aside, the team's winning target is something he will always pray for. "The most important thing is that the team has to play well. We have to win. That's very important. Whoever plays, whoever scores goals, we'll see," said Marc Klok.

"The important thing is that we came to win, for the country so that the chemistry is better, the FIFA ranking is also better," said this naturalized player from the Netherlands.
