Canceled Fire, Jose Mourino Satisfied AS Roma Beat Cagliari

JAKARTA - AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho was sacked. A 4-1 victory over Cagliari at the Unil Domus Stadium, Sunday, October 8 evening WIB in the Italian Serie A match saved Mourinho's fate. However, the news of the dismissal turned out to be a hoax.

Roma returned to winning ways ahead of the cessation of the competition due to the international match agenda. This is also Roma's third win in various competitions. Previously, they beat Frosinone 2-0 in Serie A and then beat Servette 4-0 in the Europa League.

Despite giving positive results after a 4-1 defeat to Genoa, Mourinho is actually reported to have received a warning from the club owner. If he fails to win against Cagliari, the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager will be fired.

Mourinho did make it through the exam. Roma performed optimally by buying four goals through Houssem Aoaur, Andrea Belotti and Romelu Lukaku who scored the brace.

Meanwhile, the only goal that minimized the hosts' defeat was Nahitan Nandez. He scored a goal towards the end of the game.

When asked by the media about the release from the club, Mourinho refused to give an explanation. He only confirmed his contract in Rome until June 30, 2024.

"I don't understand what you're talking about. I still have a contract [in AS Roma] until June 30. And I know what I want is to give everything for Roma. I'm here to help players achieve the targets the club and fans want," he said.
