JAKARTA - The 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup will start in Indonesia on November 10 - December 2. FIFA targets 10 thousand spectators to be present in each match.

Regarding the big target set by FIFA, Erick Thohir as the General Chair (Ketum) of PSSI will accept it. He said the federation had prepared a strategy to achieve the specified target.

"For the preparation of ticketing, I have seen, we have to push this again because there is a target from FIFA for every match of 10 thousand spectators," said Erick Thohir during a press conference in Senayan, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, October 3.

"Number one, yes, pray that the national team will continue to play. That's why the preparation of the national team is important. But we have packages that we are doing, for example, one example of working with the sponsor," continued Ketum.

Erick Thohir said it was very important to be able to collaborate with the main sponsors, one of which was a financial company. The reason is that it will make it easier for attractive offers to the audience to watch the FIFA U-17 World Cup live.

For example Visa as a sponsor, kamk did several ticketing strategy packages. Will there be a package to watch how many times, then there will be a discount, this is what we are pushing," said Erick.

"Alhamdulillah, from the meeting with FIFA, we have received clarity for the cooperation of these packages," he explained.

PSSI's efforts to accept the target given by FIFA are not without reason. Erick Thohir said that this was one of the federation's efforts to continue to gain the trust of the world football body to hold other prestigious events.

Reflecting on the latest edition of the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil, out of 52 parties that were held, the total audience was recorded at 174,603. That means, the average audience present per match reached 3,358 spectators.

Meanwhile, the 2017 U-17 World Cup in India, out of 52 matches, the total number of spectators reached 1,347,133 people. With the average audience per match reaching 25,906, it's no wonder that FIFA targets Indonesia to be able to bring more spectators directly to the stadium.

In the 19th edition which was held in Indonesia this year, the location for the U-17 World Cup will use four different stadiums. The four are on the island of Java which includes the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in Jakarta, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium (Bandung), Manahan Stadium (Solo) and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium (Surabaya).
