Asian Games 2023 Individual Badminton Draw Results: Indonesian Representatives Are Waiting For Tough Opponents In The Second Round

JAKARTA After completing the men's and women's team numbers, the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games badminton branch was resumed in individual numbers from Monday, October 2 to October 7.

Based on the results of the draw that had been carried out, many representatives of the Red and White team got permission to qualify directly for the second round. Names such as Anthony Ginting, Jonatan Christie, Gregoria Mariska, Putri KW, and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto immediately qualified for the second round.

Meanwhile, other Indonesian representatives had to fight in the first round. Leo/Daniel's men's doubles will face Leong Lok Chong/Vong Kok Weng from Macau, Apriyani/Siti Fadia meet Lui Lok/Ng Wing Yung (Hong Kong), and Febri/Amalia meet Nepalese, Rasila Maharjan/Anu Maya Rai.

The struggle must be played by representatives of Indonesia in mixed doubles. Rinov/Pitha have met South Korean doubles, Kim Won Ho/Jeong Na Eun, who is currently ranked sixth in BWF, while Rehan/Lisa face the 15th ranked pair Ye Hong Wei/Lee Chia Hsin.

Despite getting approval, Ginting, Jonatan, Gregoria, Putri KW, and Fajar/Rian, they cannot be careless. The reason is, in the second half they have the potential to face tough opponents. Ginting is certain to face Wang Tzu Wei, while Jojo has the opportunity to meet Chou Tien Chen who in the first round faced Pang▁Taw Pui.

Two representatives in the women's singles, Gregoria, placed fifth seed, will face India's Ashmita Chaliha, while Putri KW must work hard against Hong Kong representative Liang Ka Wing.

In the men's doubles, Fajar/Rian, whose achievements are declining, will meet the winner between Peerathcai Sukphun/Pakkapon Teeraratsakul vs Prince Dahal/Sunil Joshi in the second half. Meanwhile, if they win in the first round, Leo/Daniel duo has the opportunity to fight Indian doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty.

The women's doubles sector for the 2023 Asian Games is no less challenging. If they are able to get through the first round, the Ana/Tiwi pair have been waiting for the first seed Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan and Apriyani/Fadia to wait for the Japanese representatives, Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota.
