Indonesia Wins First Gold Medal at the 2023 Asian Games!

JAKARTA – The shooting sport contributed to Indonesia's first gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

This result was obtained after Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra became the best in the men's 10-meter running target at the Fuyang Yinhu Sports Center, China, Monday, September 25, 2023 afternoon of Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

Sejahtera Dwi posted a final score of 578-15X with an average point of 9,633. The details are that he successively got 99, 97, 95, 95, 94 and 98 in the six shots taken.

This achievement put Sejahtera Dwi ahead of Vietnam's representative, Huu Vuong Ngo and South Korean athlete You Jin Jeong, who respectively won silver and bronze.

Huu Vuong, who won the silver medal, was very narrowly separated from the Indonesian representative because he collected 571 points. Meanwhile, Jin Jeong scored 565 points.

This is the first gold for Sejahtera Dwi at the Asian Games. Previously, this athlete from Bekasi won a silver medal in the 10-meter running mixed target at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta-Pelembang.

Apart from that, this is also the first gold medal for the Indonesian shooting team throughout their participation in the biggest quadrennial multi-branch event in Asia.

Not only did they contribute gold medals, the shooting sport also presented bronze medals. This medal was won by the Men's Team 10m Running Target number represented by Muhammad Badri Akbar, Irfandi Julio, and Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra.

Until this news was published, the Red and White contingent had collected six medals, including one gold, one silver, and four bronze medals.
