JAKARTA Bayern Munich is in danger of losing Joshua Kimmich against Manchester United in the first matchday of Group A of the European Champions League at the Allianz Stadium, Thursday (21/9) in the morning WIB.

Kimmich is said to have suffered an injury while strengthening Munich in the Bundesliga continued against Bayer Leverkusen which ended in a 2-2 draw.

In that match, Die Roten's deputy captain was pulled out in the 60th minute and replaced by Noussair Mazraoui. Before the match, Kimmich had doubts about appearing due to a minor injury while strengthening the German national team.

Munich coach Thomas Tuchel admitted to pulling out Kimmich for fear of the player's fitness. "Joshua is experiencing tendon inflammation and we don't want to take any risks with him," he said as reported by Sportsmole.

The medical team clearly said he could only play 60 minutes and that's why we pulled him out in the 60th minute.

The former PSG and Chelsea coach hopes that the decision to replace Kimmich will allow the German international to be fit for the club's first game in the 2023-2024 Champions League season.

Apart from Kimmich, who is still in doubt, the Bundesliga champions are not expected to be strengthened by Manuel Neuer, Tarek Buchmann, Raphael Guerreiro, and Kingsley Coman who are still injured.

Munich will have a home advantage for the first match of the Champions League group stage, where they will face Manchester United who are trying to bounce back after suffering a 1-3 defeat at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
