AFC Cup Qualification 2023/2024: PSM Makassar Don't Want To Underestimate Yangoon United

PSM Makassar will face Yangoon United in the 2023/2024 AFC Cup qualifying round, Wednesday, August 23. This match will be held at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar Regency, Bali.

PSM coach Bernardo Tavares said his team would not underestimate the opposing team. Yangoon United has a track record as one of the best teams in Myanmar.

Not only that, several Yangoon United players are also players in the national team, complete with experienced coaches.

Although PSM Makassar is the winner of Liga 1 Indonesia in 2022/2023, Bernardo did not use last season's experience as a way of being complacent and feeling above the wind.

"We estimate this will be a difficult match and of course they want to win as we want to win a positive result," said Tavares, as reported by Antara.

The Portuguese man also said his team would focus on improving weaknesses in all lines ahead of the game.

"We fixed everything because we attacked and defended together," he said.

Meanwhile, PSM defender Yuran Fernandes revealed that he and other players trained hard to win the game so they could enter the group stage.

"We came to win but they have good players, their position in their domestic league is also good but tomorrow seems to be a tough game," he said.

The PSM Makassar match against Yangoon United is scheduled to start at 19.00 WITA at the Dipta Stadium, Gianyar.
