Chelsea Will Get Stronger, Pochettino Said After His Team Lost To West Ham United

JAKARTA - Chelsea suffered an embarrassing defeat in the second week of the English Premier League, Sunday, August 20, local time. Traveling to the London Stadium, the Blues fell 1-3 from West Ham United.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino said this defeat would actually make his team stronger. He emphasized that his team would perform better in the future.

"The defeat will only make us stronger so we can perform even better in the next matches," said Pochettino, quoted from the club's official website.

The Argentine manager then asked his team not to get involved in the disappointment. The players were asked to immediately focus on finding victory in the next match against Luton Town at Stamford Bridge, Friday, August 25.

"Now we have to move on, there are a lot of positive things. Not the result, but we will work very hard to win on Friday and get the performance we want," said Pochettino.

Pochettino admitted that his team did not perform well in the match against West Ham. The former Paris Saint-Germain coach then highlighted the appearance of the Blues in the first half.

"I was a little upset with the start of the game because we conceded some situations so we realized West Ham's danger and we gave them the possibility to score goals," said Pochettino.

"From the start we also started late, trying to find a way to play after replacing Carney with Mikhaylo and they found a second goal," he added.
