Badminton World Championships 2023: Women's Singles Are Expected To Use The Best Consistently

JAKARTA - Indonesian women's singles players are expected to be able to bring out their maximum capabilities at the 2023 Badminton World Championships. They are also expected to appear consistent throughout the tournament.

The 2023 Badminton World Championships will be held on August 21-27. PBSI sent Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Putri Kusuma Wardani in the women's singles sector.

"What I want is to give maximum capacity first, especially Putri, who in the last match always goes up and down," said the women's singles coach, Indra Wijaya.

"Gregoria is the same. In Korea it is not good, in Japan it is much better. I think in the World Championships, round after round must be observed. That must be prepared," he continued, as quoted by Antara.

He said preparations for Gregoria and Putri KW towards the World Championships had gone well. Both tactical and physical.

"Now we just have to maintain the fitness and feeling," added Indra.

Furthermore, Indra also said that Putri KW's condition and confidence had indeed decreased in the last few tournaments. The athlete's mentality is now trying to be improved in training.

"This is what we are trying to continue to improve in training, discussion from chatting, everything. It is hoped that from training and others, I will see very well in preparation," said Indra.

"It's just a matter of appearance in the match. Pressure that I don't think is necessary, but sometimes he still brings to the game. It's a burden on yourself," he continued.

The coach did not set a specific target for his players. "At least our target is to bring out the best game first. Don't be burdened with unnecessary non-technical things," he said.
