JAKARTA - Repsol Honda racer, Marc Marquez, is certain to race in the Dutch MotoGP which will be held this weekend. Previously, Marquez missed the race at the Sachsenring Circuit, Germany, because he felt he was not in a fit condition.

As is known, Marquez made a surprising decision ahead of the start of the German MotoGP race. He withdrew after several times falling in a free practice session.

"I arrived at Assen looking to forget the difficult weekend in Germany. We had one more race before the summer holidays and the goal was to collect a lot of good data for technicians so they could work over the following weeks," Marquez said.

The Netherlands is known to present fierce fighting around a fast, flowing 4.54-kilometer circuit. Marquez has won twice the race at the Assen Circuit in the premier class and only finished once outside the podium in 2021.

This time, Marquez will be accompanied by Iker Lecuona, a Superbike racer. He will replace Joan Mir who is still recovering.

Marquez and the team arrived in the Netherlands with realistic expectations and knew that this weekend will be their chance before the summer break to focus on developing the bike going forward.

"This is the focus for the weekend, we have to stay calm and close to the weekend with a clear plan," he added, as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, Lecuona made her second appearance this year in MotoGP when Mir recovered at home with the aim of returning to action at the British GP in a fit condition.

"I'm happy to be joining the team again, it's an honor. Assen is the circuit I like, I got my first WSBK podium there so hopefully we can have a good weekend like at Jerez," Lecuona said.

"I'm still a bit recovering after the accident at Misano, so it's going to be a good physical test too," he continued.
