JAKARTA - Head of Development and Achievement of PP PBSI, Rionny Mainaky conveyed a message to the athletes who will appear at the 2023 SEA Games. He asked his players to be aware of weather conditions in Cambodia.

Rionny asked the athletes to get used to the weather at Phnom Penh which is very hot outside but cool on the field. Rionny considers this situation to be able to affect the condition of the body and concentrate when appearing.

"Children have to get used to the weather here (Phnom Phen). It's very hot outside, then enter a cool room," said Rionny Mainaky in a written statement from PBSI quoted on Monday, May 8.

"This they have to maintain their condition. Likewise, concentration and focus must be good," Rionny added.

Rionny then appreciated the organizers of the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. Because although it was crowded, it was said that the readiness of these multi-events was not entirely complete, Rionny considered Rionny not to be disappointing.

"The venue for the Morodok Techo Badminton Hall is quite good, although it is a bit small but from the wind, lights and field carpets everything is normal," said Rionny.

"Likewise in the athletes' village. They prepared a shuttle bus to the venue even though it was close. This really helps us because we don't have to walk in the hot weather. Not to mention modern gym equipment. Although it is said that it is not ready but this is not disappointing," said Rionny.

The Indonesian badminton team itself tested three matches in a training session on Saturday, May 6. After reviewing the field conditions, Rionny admitted that he was quite satisfied with the results.

For the match schedule, the badminton sport at the 2023 SEA Games will start on May 8-16. On this occasion there will be categories of men's teams, women's teams, mixed teams and individuals to be competed.
