Former Soccer Player Pelayo Novo Dies After Being Hit By A Train, Real Madrid Also Grief

JAKARTA - Real Madrid also expresses its deep condolences for the death of Pelayo Novo. The footballer from Spain was reported to have died after being hit by a train.

The news of Pelayo Novo's death has made Spanish football clubs also express their sorrow. One of them is Real Madrid.

Los Blancos expressed their sadness by uploading a photo of their deceased on Instagram, even though the player was not part of the team.

"Real Madrid is deeply saddened by the passing of Pelayo Novo, former player of Oviedo, Cordoba, Elche, Lugo, CFR 1907 Cluj and Albacete," wrote Real Madrid on Instagram on Wednesday, 1 March.

Quoted from Sportskeeda, the incident that cost Pelayo Novo's life took place in the city of Oviedo on Tuesday, February 28 evening local time.

"Local Spanish media reported about (Pelayo) Novo's tragic accident. Dead at the age of 32, the former midfielder was reportedly hit by a train in the city of Oviedo," wrote the Sportskeeda report.

Before it was reported that he had died, Pelayo Novo had had a career as a professional footballer at several clubs. He has defended Spanish clubs such as Elche, Cordoba, Lugo, and Albacete and migrated to the Romanian League with CFR Cluj.

In 2018 Pelayo Novo also had a terrible incident that risked his life. He is known to have fallen from the third floor of the hotel occupied by the Albacete squad. The accident required Novo to be treated for 51 days.

As a result of that incident, Pelayo Novo was diagnosed with permanent paralysis so he had to live in a wheelchair.

Not wanting to be hindered by his limitations, Novo continues to pursue a career in the world of sports by pursuing a career as a wheelchair tennis player and joining the Austrian Tennis Federation as a senior official.
