India Open 2023 First Day Schedule: Minions Meet Leo/Daniel Directly

JAKARTA — The first round of the India Open 2023 starts today, Tuesday, January 17. The following is the schedule of five Indonesian representatives who will compete on the first day.

The Super 750 BWF level event was held at K.D. Jadhav Indoor Hall, New Delhi, India, from Tuesday, 17 January to 22 January. The civil war among Indonesian representatives was immediately presented.

Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo against their juniors Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin. This will be the third meeting between the two partners.

In the previous two meetings, Marcus/Kevin dominated and always came out victorious.

Their first meeting took place in the final of the Hylo Open 2021. At that time, the Minions only needed two games to force their compatriots to take second place on the podium.

Meanwhile, the next clash occurred in the quarter-finals of Denmark Open last year. In this match Marcus/Kevin lost the first game before rising in the next two games.

Apart from Marcus/Kevin, mixed doubles Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati will also compete. The pair will meet representatives from Taiwan, Yang Po-Hsuan/Hu Ling Fang.

Another match will be played by two men's singles, namely Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo and Jonatan Christie. Chico will meet Chinese representative Shi Yuqi, while Jonathan will face Brian Yang (Canada).

On paper, Jonathan has lost his only meeting with Brian in the 2021 Sudirman Cup.

Meanwhile, for Rehan/Lisa, and Chico, today's match was the first meeting with their opponents.
