JAKARTA - Former PBSI national team player, Ihsan Maulana Mustafa, apparently had experience as a coach in Canada. He also told his story for about a year there.

Ihsan admitted that he received an offer when he already had a club in Indonesia. However, he finally accepted the offer to seek experience in other countries.

The PB Djarum player admitted that he felt at home there while coaching the CST club in Montreal. He gained new insights, especially into the Canadian badminton culture.

Unlike in Indonesia, Canadians often have difficulties with facilities, equipment, and supplies. If in Indonesia everything is very easy to reach, he experienced different things while there.

Ihsan said, not all people in Canada can enjoy badminton. "In Canada, maybe only certain people are financially capable", he said, as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 21.

"There the field rent is very expensive. For those who (their economic conditions) are not a problem, but it's a pity for the lower middle class", he continued.

According to Ihsan, the number of trainers in Canada is still very minimal. Even though Canadians can afford to pay for trainers financially, they have difficulty finding qualified trainers.

"Parents there want their children to become athletes, but unfortunately not many have found really top coaches", said Ihsan who is a men's singles player.

According to him, many children in Canada play pretty well. Unfortunately, some obstacles prevented them from developing their game.
