BWF World Tour Finals 2022: Fajar/Rian, Ginting And Jojo Compak Achieved Second Victory

JAKARTA - Men's doubles pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto successfully secured their second victory in the preliminary Group A BWF World Tour Finals 2022.

They beat Japanese pair Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi in two straight games 21-18 and 21-15 at Nimibutr Arena, Bangkok, Thailand, Thursday, December 8 at noon WIB.

Previously, Fajar/Rian had already secured their first victory by defeating the Korean pair Choi Sol Gyu/Kim Won Ho on Wednesday with the same score as two straight games.

Apart from Fajar/Rian, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting's men's singles also successfully won their second match. This badminton player from Cimahi defeated second seed Chinese Taipei Chou Tien Chen rubber game.

Ginting previously secured his first win by defeating compatriot Jonatan Christie. Against Jonathan, he also had to fight for three sets.

Meanwhile, Jojo also won on this second day. He defeated Singapore's representative, Loh Kean Yew. Had 16-21 in the first game, he then got up in the next two games. Jojo won 22-20 and 21-10.

Unfortunately, these two positive results cannot be followed by the women's singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and the women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.

Gregoria and Apri/Fadia failed to win in the second match after winning on the first day against their opponents, Chen Yu Fei and Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan.

Fajar/Rian will next face representatives of Malaysia, Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi, in the last match. Ginting will meet world champion 2021 from Singapore Loh Kean Yew.

Meanwhile, Gregoria will meet with Deputy Akane Yamaguchi. Then Apri/Fadia faced China's fourth seed Chen Qing Chen/Jia Yi Fan.
