JAKARTA - Sad news came from the world of badminton in the country. Indonesian badminton legend, Justian Suhandinata, died after undergoing treatment in Bangkok, Thailand.

Justian died at the age of 75. The legend died at the Bumrungrad Hospital, Bangkok, Thailand, Friday, November 4 at 21:25 WIB, due to a stroke.

Justian is a national and international badminton figure. He served as Vice President of BWF (1993-1995) to the PP PBSI Advisory Board.

While working in the badminton world, he has given many achievements to Indonesia. One of them presented a gold medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics through Ricky Soebagdja/Rexy Mainaky.

It didn't stop there, this 75-year-old man was able to make Indonesia win 10 world titles, 9 All England champions, and 10 Asian Games gold medals.

In 2008, he successfully brought the name Suhandinata Cup to be contested as a junior mixed team badminton championship or BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championship.

Suhandinata is Justian's father, who together with the figure Sudirman succeeded in uniting the badminton organization which was divided into a BWF organization in 1981 Tokyo.

Justian is also a figure who initiated the holding of the Individual Junior Badminton World Championship, now known as BWF. The event has also become a world badminton event since 1992 until now.
