Perpetrators of the Camp Nou Stadium Bombing Plan during El Clasico Jailed for 3 Years

JAKARTA - The perpetrator of the plan to bomb Barcelona's Camp Nou Stadium, Mohammed Yassin Amrani, was sentenced to three years in prison.

Amrani is accused of collaborating with a terrorist group to bomb Camp Nou during the El Clasico match against Real Madrid. Planned bombing using drones filled with explosives.

Spanish outlet Diario AS reported that Amrani received two charges in a trial at Spain's National High Court. The charges relate to training and indoctrination.

The prosecutor's office initially sentenced him to nine years because of Amranu's ties to an active terrorist organization.

After reaching an agreement with the Prosecutor's Office, Yassin Amrani answered briefly "yes" to the two questions the court asked him.

The question was whether he pleaded guilty and whether he was satisfied with the sentence he received.

Amrani was proven to have started the process of self-radicalization in 2020. Prosecutors cited his activities on the internet as evidence of his plan to launch an attack.

His messages indicating direct communication with DAESH/ISIS operations were also read out in court. The message is closely related to the planned attack in Catalunya using drones.
