JAKARTA - Sadio Mane won praise after he told the referee that he scored with his hands during Bayern Munich's trip to Bochum.

Die Roten brought home a big 7-0 win when they visited Bochum for the third week of the 2022/2023 German Bundesliga at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion Stadium on Sunday, August 21 yesterday.

The visitors were already leading 3-0 when Mane accidentally scored with his hands. The goal was disallowed by the referee after an interversion by the video assistant referee (VAR) confirmed a foul.

The Twitter account @BeWarmers claims Mane immediately informed the referee that he had scored by hand before the VAR intervention.

Footage in the tweet shows Mane making a pointing gesture to his hand after the ball has gone into the net. The attitude of the 30-year-old attacker made netizens praise him in the upload comments column.

In this match Mane looked impressive scoring two goals. One of those goals he netted from the penalty spot after defender Saidy Janko brought down Kingsley Coman in the box.

Mane has scored a total of three goals for Munich in three games in the German Bundesliga. He previously scored one goal in Die Roten's 6-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in the first week.

Three wins make Bayern occupy the top position of the current standings with a collection of nine points. They are two points ahead of the other three teams that complete the top four.
