Extraordinary! Weightlifting Has Donated 8 Gold Medals For Indonesia At The Islamic Solidarity Games 2021

JAKARTA - Indonesia's gold medal pieces at the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games continue to grow. The gold medal came back from the sport of weightlifting.

There have been eight gold medals presented in this sport, as reported by Antara. Most recently, gold was won by Natasya Beteyob, who fell in the women's 55-kilogram class.

The 22-year-old lifter beat Turkmenist Kristina Shermetova who won the silver medal. Meanwhile, Iran's representative, Poupak Basami, won the bronze medal.

Apart from Natasya who won two gold medals, weightlifters who also won the same achievement were Siti Nafisatul Hariroh (three gold) and Ricko Saputra (three gold).

So far, the Indonesian contingent has temporarily occupied the fifth position in the medal standings for the 2021 Islamic Solidarity Games. The Red and White team has collected eight gold, two silver, and five bronze.

The top position of the standings is occupied by hosts Turkey with 41 gold, 41 silver, and 27 bronze medals.

Please note, that Indonesia sent 87 athletes to this event. The Indonesian contingent will participate in 13 sports, including weightlifting and athletics.
