JAKARTA - Dani Alves has become a public talk since his arrival in Liga MX to join Pumas. The Brazilian full-back is hoping for a place in Brazil's squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Previously, Alves revealed he was a big fan of boxer Canelo Alvarez. The former Barcelona right-back also claims that characters rooted in Mexican culture such as El Chavo, El Chapulín, and La Chilindrina shaped his childhood.

As Izquierdazo reported, Alves has shown his support for Canelo on other occasions. One of them, after the Mexican boxer was defeated by Dmitry Bivol.

"For a champion like you there are no defeats, situations like that always raise your level, man", Alves said on social media as quoted by Marca, Monday.

On another occasion, the Brazilian appeared on social networks practicing shadow moves and mentioned Canelo in his post.

Officially in the Pumas shirt, Alves might have a chance to meet Canelo and learn boxing from him now.

"In terms of style [he's] the coolest of the coolest. El Canelo," he wrote in one of his social media posts.

Alves joined Pumas on a free transfer and became one of the most talked about players in Liga MX history.

Even though he is 39 years old, he continues to prove that he can perform at the top level.
