Leo/Daniel Win The Singapore Open 2022 After Silence Fajar/Rian

JAKARTA - Indonesian men's doubles, Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin successfully won the Singapore Open 2022.

They got the title after overthrowing their compatriot Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

The 2019 junior world champion lost the first game 9-21 before coming back in the next two games 21-14, and 21-16 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, on Sunday, 17 July 2022.

Leo/Daniel scored two consecutive points early in the first game, but Fajar/Rian immediately responded quickly.

They evened the score and then took a six-point lead at the interval.

After the break, Leo/Daniel's scoring run remained slow.

They were forced to give up after only being able to add four points.

At the beginning of the second game, Leo/Daniel immediately stepped on the gas and stole the first five points.

They continued to take the lead and then took a five-point lead over their senior at half-time.

After the break Fajar / Rian did not get a chance to reduce the position.

They trailed 9-17 and then surrendered by seven points.

Two numbers in a row brought Leo/Daniel the lead in the deciding game.

Fajar/Rian had identified the scores 3-3 and 4-4, but fell behind again by five points at the break.

Leo/Daniel became more and more difficult to contain after that. They continued to keep the points gap until they sealed victory to bring them the first World Tour title of their career.

This is the second title for Indonesian representatives in Singapore this year.

Previously, Indonesia had brought home one title through the women's doubles Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti.
