Novak Djokovic And Nick Kyrgios Promise To Have Dinner Together After Duel In The 2022 Wimbledon Final

JAKARTA - Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios have agreed to meet and have dinner together after the 2022 Wimbledon final with the agreement that the winner must pay the entire bill.

Djokovic and Kyrgios will have the much-anticipated fight at the All England Club as the Serb looks for a seventh Wimbledon title, while Kyrgios is bidding for his first Grand Slam title.

The agreement to have dinner together began when the two players met in training and the discussion then continued to a chat on social media.

"It took you five years to say something nice about me," said Djokovic, who once had a disagreement with Kyrgios.

"But I stand by you when it comes to important matters," Kyrgios chimed in.

Djokovic then asked "are we already friends?" before finally offering the Australian to meet him.

“If you invite me for a drink or dinner, I will. With a note, the winner of the final will have to pay for everything," said Djokovic, who was immediately greeted by Kyrgios' approval.

The relationship between Djokovic and Kyrgios was not good when the Australian criticized the implementation of the Adria tennis tour which was initiated by Djokovic in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kyrgios accused Djokovic of being the organizer of a lack of leadership and humility.

Djokovic even said last year that off the pitch he had little respect for Kyrgios.

However, despite the feud, Kyrgios became one of the few tennis players who supported Djokovic who was involved in the COVID-19 vaccination status controversy to appear at the Australian Open before finally being deported from the Kangaroo Country in January.
