JAKARTA - The market for MotoGP racers is back to being busy. Gresini Racing, which was previously linked with Miguel Oliveira, actually hooked Alex Marquez.
The Spaniard will be Fabio Di Giannatonio's duet partner. Alex Marquez was brought from LCR Honda.
Alex Marquez admitted that he was very happy to join Gresini Racing. He is also very excited to start a new adventure in MotoGP 2023.
"It was crucial for me to change in order to recover the same motivation when I first joined this class. This is the best option for me, with a team that has helped make history of this championship," he said on the official MotoGP website, as quoted by Antara.
Meanwhile, LCR Honda is reportedly getting a replacement for Alex Marquez. The Honda satellite club is one step away from collaborating with Alex Rins, a racer from Suzuki Ecstar.
Rins said his party was close to signing a contract with LCR Honda.
"It's not official yet because I haven't signed anything. Maybe, in the next few days," he said.
Actually, Alex Rins is also in communication with Gresini Racing and KTM. However, there is a strong reason that makes the Spaniard choose LCR Honda.
He said Honda gave him the opportunity to race with a new bike, something that Gresini Racing could not provide. "This is an interesting project," he said.
