JAKARTA - The Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI), Sandiaga Uno appreciates Indonesian esports athletes who have fought at the 2021 SEA Games Vietnam.

Sandiaga assessed that the sport (sports) Esports had made history after gaining six medals.

Sandiaga, who also serves as the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, stated that the medal achievement was due to the cooperation of all parties, including KONI, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the national team, and others.

He said all the esports athletes who have worked hard, have synergy and enthusiasm to win medals at the SEA Games. He emphasized that the coaches, management, and the entire team contributed greatly from preparation, national training, and competitions.

"It's really a very proud record that Indonesia won a total medal from Esports, which is an amazing achievement," said Sandi in his official statement, Saturday, June 4.

Sandi is committed to continuing to develop Esports together to make it better and to make Indonesia proud in the international sports arena.

He also hopes that the athletes can continue to hone their skills so that they can win more medals in various championships, especially in the international arena.

"Hopefully our esports athletes will continue to drive their achievements and we will improve their coaching. We build our esports ecosystem," he concluded.

The total bonus given by PBESI to outstanding esports athletes is IDR 3.8 billion. In detail, IDR 2.2 billion for gold medalists, IDR 1.2 billion for silver medals, and IDR 335 million for bronze medals.
