Denmark Vs France Ends 2-1 Thanks To Andreas Cornelius' Two Goals

JAKARTA - Denmark vs France match ended with a 2-1 scoreline thanks to two goals scored by substitute Andreas Cornelius in the UEFA Nations League Group A1 match at the Stade de France Stadium, Paris, Saturday, June 4 early morning western Indonesia time.

Cornelius' two goals for Denmark were scored in the 68th and 88th minutes, while France was able to take the lead in the 51st minute through Karim Benzema, as quoted by Reuters.

This victory means Denmark is in second place in Group A1 of the UEFA Nations League with three points from one game, losing on goal difference to Austria in the first place.

On the other hand, France is in third place in Group A1 without points with a one-goal deficit, and the bottom position is occupied by Croatia, which today was beaten by Austria 0-3.

In this match, France had kicked off first when striker Karim Benzema was able to tear the net from Denmark, but was later ruled out for offside.

After the first half, France had to lose Kylian Mbappe, but Les Blues managed to take the lead in the 51st minute which started with a game of one or two Christopher Nkunku and Benzema, before finally the Real Madrid striker found the net against Denmark and made it 1-0.

Quoted from ANTARA, France continued to put Denmark under pressure before finally, Kasper Kjulmand's squad was able to equalize in the 68th minute through substitute Andreas Cornelius after receiving a pass from Pierre-Emile Hojberg and making it 1-1.

The goal did little to stop the French onslaught and Ngolo Kante should have put the home side back in front in the 81st minute but his curling shot hit Kasper Schmeichel's right post.

Despite the pressure, Denmark still posed a dangerous threat to France when Christian Eriksen fired straight at the French goalkeeper which Hugo Lloris was able to block.

Cornelius was again a hero for Denmark when, in the 88th minute, the 29-year-old managed to get past the offside trap to capitalize on Joakim Maehle's long ball and slot the ball high into the net beyond Lloris' reach to make it 2-1 for the Dynamites' lead that lasted until the fight is over.
