Ahead Of Formula E Race At JIEC, Nyck De Vries: The Track Layout Looks Very Interesting

JAKARTA - Mercedes-EQ racer, Nyck de Vries, admits that he can't wait to race at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol, North Jakarta, next June 4. He said, this new circuit looks very interesting.

The Jakarta 2022 Formula E race is the first in Indonesia. In addition, this will be the first electric car race in Southeast Asia since Malaysia last hosted the 2015/2016 season.

"I'm really looking forward to racing. We haven't been to Asia for a while," said De Vries on the official Formula E website.

Please note, JIEC is a track specially designed and inspired by Kuda Lumping, a traditional dance. The erratic dance gives way to a dancer in a flowing, trance-like state, displaying immense physical strength and endurance.

This way, the circuit will give the impression of a fast and flowing circuit after Turn 4 to Turn 13. Turn 11 and the attack mode of Turn 16 are also arranged in such a way as to give the driver extra room to create speed to the absolute limit.

"The layout of the track looks very attractive, fast enough, not too many narrow corners and enough flow, which is always a good thing for the riders," said De Vries.

"I'm not entirely sure where the best opportunity to overtake is, but in Formula E, it will always be there. This is an event that I look forward to, for sure," added the holder of last season's Formula E title.

The Jakarta Formula E race will be held at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC) Ancol, North Jakarta, June 4. The agenda begins with the first free practice session starting at 07.15 a.m. GMT+7 (Western Indonesian Time or WIB).

Then continued the second free practice session at 09.00 a.m. WIB and the qualifying round which was held at 10.40 WIB. The race itself will start at 15.03 p.m. WIB.
