Admitting Feyenoord Was Unlucky In The Conference League Final, Arne Slot: Against Mourinho's Italian Team Is Difficult

JAKARTA - Feyenoord coach Arne Slot said his team was unlucky when they lost 0-1 to AS Roma in the Conference League final at Arena Kombetare Stadium, Tirana, Albania, Wednesday night.

Quoted by Antara from Sky Sports, Thursday, Slot explained that in the first half, Feyenoord had quite a bit of control over the match, but they had problems with decisions made by their players and movement without the ball.

Slot said he asked his side to be sharper in the second half, but in the end they failed to score an equaliser.

"In the second half, we were sharper than the first half, but you need a bit of luck and we didn't get that," said Slot.

"We had the time and the opportunity to score, and we didn't make it happen. Maybe it had to do with the quality of the opponents."

The Dutch coach explained that in the final match, they would not get many chances, especially when facing an Italian team.

"In the final against an Italian team it is very difficult to create chances, and even more so when it is an Italian team coached by Mourinho," said Slot.

In this match, Feyenoord had to lose to AS Roma after Nicolo Zaniolo scored in the 32nd minute after receiving a pass from Gianluca Mancini.

This defeat meant that Feyenoord failed to win the European title after they last did in 2002 when they won the UEFA Cup by beating Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the final.
