Indonesia U-23 National Team Against Vietnam, Shin Tae-yong Makes Sure 3 Senior Players Appear

JAKARTA - Three senior players for the Indonesian U-23 national team, Marc Klok, Ricky Kambuaya, and Fachruddin Aryanto, will play in the opening match of Group A of the 2021 SEA Games against Vietnam on Friday, May 6, 2022, at night WIB.

The coach of the Indonesian U-23 National Team, Shin Tae-yong, has prepared his team for the inaugural match against the favorite team to win, Vietnam.

Quoting PSSI's statement, senior center-back Fachruddin Aryanto, who was asked to be the captain, will fight alongside his younger colleagues such as Ilham Rio Fahmi, Firza Andika, and Rizky Ridho at the back. Meanwhile, Muhammad Adi Satryo acts as a goalkeeper.

While in the middle, Ricky Kambuaya and Marc Klok partnered with Rahmat Irianto.

Upfront, Shin Tae-yong placed two players from Slovak League club FK Senica, Egy Maulana, and Witan Sulaeman, and a winger for Sabah FC in the Malaysian Super League, Saddil Ramdani.

On the Vietnam side, coach Park Hang-seo also plays senior players namely Nguyen Hoang Duc, Nguyen Tien Linh, and Do Hung Dung who will act as captains in this match.

The three names have experience scoring goals against Indonesia. Hoang Duc and Hung Dung once scored against "Garuda Muda" at the 2019 SEA Games, while Tien Linh scored against Indonesia in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers in the Asian zone.

The first match of the Indonesian U-23 national team in Group A of the 2021 SEA Games men's football against Vietnam was held at the Viet Tri Stadium, Phu Tho, starting at 19.00 WIB.
