JAKARTA - Fenerbahce coach, Ismail Kartal welcomed the positive results his team achieved when hosting Galatasaray in week 32 of the 2021/2022 Turkish Super League. He said the good results obtained by his foster children were the sweet fruit of their own discipline.

In the match at the Ulker Fenerbahce Stadium which took place on Monday, April 11 in the morning of Indonesian Western Time (WIB), the hosts won 2-0. The victory was thanks to a goal scored by Miha Zajc in the 26th minute, which was then fulfilled by Serdar Dursun in the 68th minute.

Kartal said the key to the good score was the discipline and game play of the team who remained calm during the match.

"The key to this match is that we can play our own game. I emphasize to the players that they must be able to play rationally on the pitch, by applying discipline," the coach was quoted as saying on the club's official website.

"We have to finish the game by applying our performance, no matter who the opponent is, we try to play our own football. Today we did it by staying calm and we succeeded," he continued.

The slick results from this fierce duel against Galatasaray then made Fenerbahce remain in the top ranks of the Turkish Super League standings. Fenerbahce are in second place in the standings with a total of 59 points.

Although only one place adrift, the difference between Fenerbahce and Trabzonspor as the leader of the standings is quite far, which is 13 points.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray who lost points from this match made them sink further into the bottom ranks. Galatasaray are currently in 14th place in the Turkish Super League standings with 41 points.
