JAKARTA - Davide Ancelotti is in Carlo Ancelotti's seat when Real Madrid face Celta Vigo in La Liga Santander on Saturday night. Who is she?

Ancelotti tested positive for COVID-19 which forced him to step aside from the Los Blancos coach for the time being. His position, replaced by Davide, his son, on the touchline at Balaidos (Celta Vigo home).

Davide is the assistant coach of Real Madrid. When Don Carlo decides the line-up, Davide and the rest of the coaching staff will make the decisions throughout the game.

As a man who can speak four languages, Davide became the main voice of Los Blancos on Saturday. Meanwhile, at Valdebebas, Real Madrid's training ground, Davide's voice is often louder than his father's.

After earning a degree in sports science, Davide started his career under his father at Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 before following him to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Napoli and Everton.

Davide's influence within his father's team has grown steadily over time.

Davide has obtained a UEFA A license, and when his father coached Everton, he spoke to the Guardian about how he was an obsessive student at the game.

"I didn't have enough talent to be a professional player, but I liked it, so I decided to study it and train to the maximum," he said.

At Balaidos, it is not the first time Davide has replaced Don Carlo as first-team coach. Previously, in Serie A, he did so when Napoli lost 1-2 to AS Roma in the 2019/20 season.

And it is not impossible that he will return to duty at Stamford Bridge when Los Blancos face Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals if his father has not recovered from COVID-19.
