Valencia Vs Cadiz Ends 0-0, International Break Becomes A "scapegoat"

JAKARTA - Unsatisfactory results must be accepted by Valencia when they host Cadiz in the 30th week of the 2021/2022 Spanish League. Appearing at the Mestalla Stadium, Sunday, April 3, Valencia could only close the match with a score of 0-0.

Of course, it was not the result that the hosts had hoped for, who from the start were aiming for the full three points. Valencia coach, Jose Bordalas admitted his team looked difficult against a team in the relegation zone.

"We created less and more chances. We went into the game with the aim of scoring three points," Bordalas said, quoted by Marca.

In the match against Cadiz, Valencia was able to show dominance on the field. This is reflected in the statistical data where Valencia controlled 52 percent of the ball.

However, from the number of shoot on target, Valencia is really weak. The hosts only scored once throughout the match.

Bordalas said Valencia was lacking in preparation because of the international agenda. This forced a number of players to be absent from the team.

"It's true that this year we haven't been able to rely on players during the break (international break) and we haven't had much time to prepare ourselves," he said.

"Even though that's not an excuse, it's part of football and we have a lot of international players. I repeat, it's not an excuse, but we haven't created more chances."

Although disappointed with the result of the match against Cadiz, there is one note that has become the focus of the coach. Bordalas underlined the clean sheet as a positive note in this match.

"It's true that defensive improvements continue to give us confidence. We only conceded one goal and that says a lot about improving on a defensive level."
