JAKARTA - The delay in cargo delivery for the MotoGP Argentina 2022 resulted in the postponement of the racing agenda which was supposed to take place on April 1-3 at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit. Free practice sessions that were supposed to start on Friday, April 1, have been scrapped.

The entire agenda for Friday shifts to Saturday, April 2nd. The race day agenda will still take place on Sunday, April 3, Argentina time, or Monday, April 4 in the morning of Indonesian Western Time (WIB).

With the postponement of the race schedule, Dorna Sport as the operator of the MotoGP Argentina 2022 then released the latest adjusted schedule.

In the new schedule, Dorna Sport has scheduled a free practice session (FP) 1 MotoGP on Saturday, April 2, starting at 20.35 p.m. - 21.20 p.m.WIB. Then continued with FP2 on the same day at 23.25p.m. - 00.10 a.m. WIB.

FP3 for MotoGP will start taking place on Sunday 3 April 2022 in the morning at 02.25 a.m. - 02.55 a.m. WIB.

If you refer to the new schedule, it looks like the FP3 duration has been cut from 45 minutes to only 30 minutes. In its new schedule, the organizers also decided not to hold FP4.

After undergoing FP3, the MotoGP riders immediately stepped on the gas to take part in qualifications 1 and 2.

Regarding the racing schedule that has changed from this initial time, Carmelo Ezpeleta as CEO of Dorna Sport said it was due to delays in cargo delivery which was also the aftermath of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Ezpeleta said the cargo experienced delays after being stuck in Mombasa, Kenya. While working on a spare cargo plane, Dorna is having a hard time because 20 percent of the world's cargo companies come from Russia, which is currently being punished for the invasion of Ukraine.

"This problem arose because of Russia's war with Ukraine. Many flights for cargo are from Russian companies and all these flights are banned at the moment. We lost almost 20 percent of available flights in the world, and the biggest problem right now is that there are no other flights available." said Ezpeleta quoted from Motorsport.
