The U-19 Indonesian National Team Again Crushed By South Korea, Shin Tae-Yong: I Want To Give Applause To The Players

JAKARTA - The U-19 Indonesian national team lost again when they faced South Korea in a test match in Daegu, Tuesday, March 29. After losing 0-7 in the first match, this time the U-19 national team gave up with a score of 1-5.

Korea took the lead in the ninth minute thanks to Jung Jong-Hun's strike. Four minutes later, Kang Seong-jin doubled his team's lead.

In the 16th minute, Jung Jong-hun made his second goal and made South Korea lead 3-0. Indonesia closed the gap in the 43rd minute through Marselino Ferdinand's header.

Korea's last two goals were scored through the penalty spot. The first was the execution of Choi Seong-Min in the 80th minute, then the second penalty was executed by Lee Seung-Won.

The U-19 national team coach, Shin Tae-Yong, said his squad showed an unyielding spirit even though they lost 1-5 in the end. He also appreciated the spirit of his foster children.

"I want to applaud all the players. They didn't give up until the end of the game," Shin said, as reported by Antara.

According to the tactician from South Korea, his foster children have shown development, especially in terms of physicality.

However, from a tactical aspect, there is still much that needs to be improved from the U-19 national team. The basic abilities of players such as passing and maintaining concentration must continue to be improved.

"Actually, the children's play was not what I wanted. However, the goals that went into our net were not because of a good opponent but more because of our own mistakes," said Shin.

It was Indonesia's third defeat during the training camp in South Korea. Previously, the U-19 national team was defeated by Yeungnam University (1-5) and South Korea's U-19 team (0-7). One win was recorded when they met Daegu University, Sunday, March 27, with a score of 2-1.
