Confess To Be Nervous Ahead Of The Fiorentina Vs Juventus Match In The Coppa Italia, Vlahovic: I Have Mixed Feelings, A Bit Nervous

JAKARTA - New Juventus striker, Dusan Vlahovic revealed that he had mixed feelings ahead of the first leg of the Coppa Italia semifinal, Thursday morning. Because in this match Juventus will face Fiorentina, the club that Vlahovic has defended.

In the first leg later, Juventus will act as a guest team which makes them have to visit the Artemio Franchi Stadium, the headquarters of La Viola. The opportunity to return to headquarters is what Vlahovic considers quite thrilling, because he actually feels strange to have to play against a team that had three and a half seasons defended and made his name.

“I don't know what to say. I have mixed feelings, and to be honest I'm a bit nervous for this first leg because I have to go back there (Fiorentina's headquarters)," Vlahovic said as quoted by Football Italia.

Despite admitting it was tough, Vlahovic insisted he would focus on bringing his new team, Juventus, to win this first leg. Vlahovic will rule out a meeting with other Fiorentina players which will certainly be quite emotional

"It will be emotional for me, but I am focused on bringing Juve to victory. We will go there with a positive aim. For me, it's still a football game like any other game. This is all I can say," continued the 22-year-old striker.

Vlahovic crossed from Fiorentina to Juventus in the January transfer window for a fee of 75 million euros, or around Rp. 1.20 trillion.

While defending La Viola, the striker's performance was also quite good. This is evidenced by his performances in the first half of the 2021/2022 season, where he managed to record 20 goals and 4 assists from 24 appearances across competitions with Fiorentina.

Seeing how he was accepted and continued to develop during his time at Fiorentina, Vlahovic did not hesitate to return to express his gratitude to his former club. Although now no longer together, he said Fiorentina would still be the story of his life.

"I always say that I thank Fiorentina for the great years there, they have always been a part of me. I will focus on Juve, but honestly it will be a bit awkward," he said.
