Batik Message From Blitar, NBA Basketball Player Justin Holiday Praised By Indonesian Netizens

JAKARTA – NBA basketball player Justin Holiday is in the spotlight of Indonesian netizens. The Indiana Pacers player received a lot of praise after ordering batik from Blitar, East Java.

Holiday is known to have ordered a special edition batik with the club logo on it. The order was carried out by one of the batik centers in Blitar.

Batik batik from Blitar Yogi Rosdianta and his wife, Santika, were entrusted to produce the Holiday ordered batik. This is part of an effort to promote batik as merchandise to basketball fans through NBA Fashion Hits.

The collaboration between Holiday and the husband and wife immediately attracted attention. This includes the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno.

Sandiaga said that he was so proud. Batik, which is an Indonesian cultural heritage that has been recognized by UNESCO, can be more global with the promotion by the NBA basketball player.

"The batik he wears is not just any batik. He ordered it directly from a batik craftsman from Blitar, East Java named @yogi.rosdianta and his wife, Santika," tweeted Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno.

The news then caught the attention of netizens in the country. One of the uploads of Justin Holiday wearing batik on his personal Instagram @justholla7 was also visited by Indonesian citizens.

In the photo uploaded on October 26, 2021, Indonesian netizens wrote comments in the form of pride and appreciation for Holiday who had promoted batik.

“Now we can see for ourselves how batik is becoming more global. We must use this as well as possible to open up the widest possible employment opportunities, especially for MSME actors in the fashion sector," Sandiaga continued.

"Look guys, foreign people are proud to use products made in Indonesia, why are you still using foreign products?!" closed the former deputy governor of DKI Jakarta.
