JAKARTA – The match between Pelita Jaya and Satya Wacana Salatiga in the IBL 2022 continued has been officially postponed. The delay occurred due to two Pelita Jaya players who tested positive for COVID-19.

The match between the two teams was supposed to take place on Sunday, January 30, at C Tra Arena, Bandung, West Java. The new schedule for this duel awaits further test results.

“The Pelita Jaya versus Satya Wacana match had to be postponed. We have to wait for the PCR test results from Pelita Jaya," said IBL President Director Junas Miradiarsyah in IBL's official statement.

The two players who tested positive for COVID-19 were Govinda Julian Saputra and Fernando Fransco Manansang. Both experienced flu and cold symptoms.

Pelita Jaya previously carried out a PCR test on January 26 with zero COVID-19 results. Then on January 28 they conducted a second screening when they arrived in Bandung.

They have to wait for the test results to come out before doing the activity. After the test results came out on Sunday morning, Fernando and Govinda got positive results.

Currently, several Pelita Jaya personnel are under the supervision of the COVID-19 task force and the IBL medical team. Pelita Jaya again conducted a PCR test on Sunday, January 30 at 11:30 WIB.

In addition to the above matches, the IBL also postponed one other match due to the increasing number of corona cases. The match in question is the Indonesia Patriots against NSH Mountain Gold.

Previously on Saturday, IBL had postponed the match between Satria Muda Pertamina against Evos Thunder Bogor. The decision was taken after one of the Satria Muda players tested positive for COVID-19.

The corona case also disrupted the preparation of the Indonesian Patriots team in the second series of the IBL this season. The team has not been able to enter the quarantine bubble because as many as seven of their personnel have tested positive for the corona virus.
