Adam Mitter Positive For COVID-19, Makassar PSM Squad Asked To Reduce Activities Outside The Hotel

JAKARTA - The case of COVID-19 has recently re-emerged in the middle of the 2021/2022 League 1 competition. After Arema and Persib confirmed that a number of their players were exposed, now it's Makassar Football Association's turn to report the same thing.

Saturday, January 29, the official website of the Juku Eja club reported that one of their players, Adam Mitter, had tested positive for COVID-19.

The English defender was found to be positive after undergoing a PCR swab. This fact made the PSM management immediately ensure that it would tighten the enforcement of health protocols in the internal team after this incident.

"The management of Makassar Football Association has tightened the enforcement of health protocols within the team. This was done after the screening results for Adam Mitter's players tested positive for COVID-19", wrote Makassar Football Association on the club's official website.

Furthermore, Makassar Football Association Assistant Manager, Syahrir Nawir, also emphasized that management immediately took action by instructing players not to be careless about the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

PSM management also asked players, coaching staff, and officials to limit activities and mobility outside the hotel.

"Even though it has been quite strict so far, it turns out that there are still some of our players who have been exposed. It means we have to be more disciplined in enforcing health protocols", said Syahrir.

Makassar Football Association management also immediately responded to Adam Mitter's positive case by retesting all players, coaching staff, and officials.

"After we received official information that Adam Mitter was positive for COVID-19, all of our players, coaches, and officials were re-screened. Thank God, the results were negative. Those who did the screening were the COVID-19 Task Force Team prepared by PT LIB", explained Syahrir.
