PKB Year End Records: Successful And Solid In The 2024 Election

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal highlighted the political journey throughout 2024.

Cucun said that 2024 will be an important chapter in Indonesia's democratic history, especially for PKB which is considered successful and solid in the 2024 General Election.

"As a political year, all elements of the nation are actively involved in the grand event of simultaneous elections, starting from the Legislative Election and Presidential Election at the beginning of the year, to the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) at the end of the year," said Cucun, Tuesday, December 31.

According to Cucun, the dynamics of national politics will feel strong throughout 2024, which is marked by intense competition between political parties, efforts to build a strategic coalition, and the great influence of national issues on voter decisions.

"In the midst of the growing political landscape, the parties are competing to win the hearts of the people by offering relevant ideas and work programs to answer the challenges of the times," he said.

"Semesta provides evidence that PKB is not only a party that can survive the shock (survive). PKB is also able to become a party that realizes the target of progress (thrive)," continued Cucun.

Throughout this year, Cucun said, PKB has played a strategic role in national political regulations. As one of the major political parties in Indonesia, said Cucun, PKB is taking advantage of the momentum of this political year to strengthen its position both at the legislative and executive levels, for both the central and regional levels.

"The 2024 Legislative Election is a means of proof for PKB as one of the main powers in Indonesian politics," he said.

This is because, continued Cucun, PKB managed to increase the number of seats in the DPR to 68 seats, with 16,115,655 or 10.62 percent of the total votes in the 2024 Legislative Election. Not only that, the contribution of PKB to the provincial and district/city level DPRD also shows a significant upward trend.

"This success reflects the PKB strategy that has succeeded in expanding its support base, including in areas that were not previously the main base of the party," said Cucun.

Cucun said the PKB's monumental steps were also reflected in the success of leading the General Chair, Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar (Gus Muhaimin), as a Candidate for Vice President in the 2024 presidential election. In fact, said Cucun, the pair promoted by PKB and coalition partners received nearly 41 million votes.

Cucun assessed that this reflected the attractiveness of Gus Muhaimin's leadership as well as the solidity of political machines under the command of Gus Muhaimin.

As part of a new government under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, Cucun also said that PKB continues to show its strategic contribution by committing to building pro-people policies while ensuring the sustainability of national strategic programs.

On the other hand, the Deputy Speaker of the DPR said that PKB also continues to play its role in the legislature as a critical and solution balancer. He ensured that PKB's focus remained on monitoring government policies to ensure that every decision remained in favor of the small people.

"With a combination of strong executive and legislative roles, PKB further strengthens its position as one of the most influential political parties in Indonesia," said Cucun.
