The Peak Of The National Christmas Celebration This Afternoon, GBK Visitors Are Asked To Take Public Transportation

Polda Metro Jaya appealed to people who want to carry out activities in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area not to carry private vehicles. Because, the peak of the 2024 National Christmas Celebration will be held, which is planned to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto at the Indonesia Arena, this afternoon.

"We convey to the public who will take part in the graduation ceremony at the JCC so as not to bring private vehicles," said Head of Ops Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Karosekali quoted from the Instagram account @tmcpoldametro, Saturday, December 28.

The appeal was conveyed because parking bags in the GBK area were very limited. Moreover, the peak of the 2024 National Christmas Celebration will be attended by many people.

So, if all GBK visitors bring private vehicles, then, there is the potential for traffic jams.

"Given that parking in the JCC or GbK area itself is very, very limited," he said.

In addition, the GBK management and the police do not provide parking bags that can be used. Thus, all GBK visitors are asked to use public transportation.

"We convey to the citizens who will take part in the national mass this afternoon at the Indonesia Arena and also do not carry private vehicles," said Karosekali.

Meanwhile, at the peak of the 2024 National Christmas Celebration, 1,418 joint personnel were deployed.

"Polda Metro Jaya has prepared 1,418 joint security personnel," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to reporters, Friday, December 27.

The joint personnel consist of the Regional Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police and the TNI and the Jakarta Provincial Government.

The plan is that the peak of the 2024 National Christmas Celebration will begin at 16.00 WIB. An estimated 15,000 participants will attend the event.
