Carry Out 24 Fire Units, Fire Hits Residents' Intensive Houses In Tebet

A total of 24 fire engines (damkar) were deployed to deal with the fire of densely populated houses on Jalan Kampung Melayu Kecil Satu RT 08/RW 10, Bukit Duri, Tebet, South Jakarta.

"The deployment of 24 fire engines with 75 personnel, the object is a residential house," said Head of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat), Syamsul Huda, who was contacted in Jakarta, Saturday, December 21, 2024, as reported by ANTARA.

Syamsul said that his party received information from a public report on behalf of Friska regarding the fire at 12.33 WIB. Then, at 12.40 WIB the outage operation was deployed, and started operating at 12.43 WIB.

"The situation is red. We received news 12.33 WIB and the arrival time was 12.40 WIB, then 12.43 WIB started the operation. Then localize at 13.05 WIB and cool down from 13.10 WIB, until the blackout operation is complete. 13.40 WIB," he said.

Syamsul explained, the chronology of the fire began when the owner of the house saw smoke in the cavity or on the sidelines of the house wall where there was a cable installation.

"Because the distance of the house was close to and the thickness of the smoke, the occupants then contacted the Tebet Damkar," he explained.

Syamsul said the area burned was 55 square meters. The fire is thought to have been caused by an electrical short circuit that affected six families, 30 people, and an estimated loss of Rp. 78 million.
