Cliff Landslide, Galian C Worker In Karangasem Bali Dies

KARANGASEM - A worker in sand and rock mining or c excavation named I Kadek Ambara (36) died after being hit by a landslide cliff.

The incident occurred in Banjar Dinas Badeg Dukuh, Sebudi Village, Selat District, Karangasem Regency, Bali, on Friday (13/12) morning.

"There has been a landslide. As a result of the incident, there was one person who died," said Head of Public Relations of the Karangasem Police, Iptu Gede Sukadana

The landslide occurred at 06.30 WITA. Chronologically, at that time the victim was picking up waste rocks from excavation C and then about to be loaded into a truck in the river channel.

Suddenly a cliff near the location with a height of 30 meters with a width of 15 meters of landslide hit the victim.

Not only victims, 2 trucks and 3 motorbikes located at the location were also buried by landslide material as deep as 1.5 meters.

Residents at the location immediately helped evacuate victims and took them to the Selat Health Center.

"After an examination by the doctor, the victim was declared dead with a diagnosis of a broken neck," he said.
