Minister Of Education And Technology Encourages Universities To Implement Partnership Schemes To Advance MSMEs

JAKARTA - Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Mendiktisaintek) Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro encourages all universities to carry out various partnership schemes to support improving the quality of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

"There are three forms of partnership that are currently being formed by universities with the business world, including student internships, industrial training and mutual research, as well as curriculum alignment. This partnership is expected to help improve the quality of MSME products," he said, quoting Antara.

Satryo explained that student internships are the main form of collaboration between vocational higher education and the business world and industry, while the second form is by developing a vocational education unit partnership related to industrial training and joint research.

As for the third form, he explained, is the alignment of the curriculum by involving the world of industrial channels since planning, so vocational education graduates are expected to be more relevant and ready to work, and also ready to build MSMEs.

Satryo encourages the transformation of a more strategic, innovative, and relevant partnership approach between universities and the business world and industry.

"This is necessary to generate a broader, impactable, and sustainable partnership," he stressed.

Therefore, Satryo encourages universities to offer various forms of programs that are relevant to the business world and industry more deeply.

According to him, this will be a strategic investment for the business world and industry, so that it is hoped that the partnership that is established can have a positive impact on students and the existing business and industry.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Trade Budi Santoso said that Indonesia's domestic market is quite large, there is also a lot of potential that can be worked on and developed by domestic industries, especially by MSMEs.

"Many campuses, universities, which have business incubators, we want to work together, we want to collaborate so that the business of fostering parents, from campus, from universities, can go global," said Budi Santoso.
